Head coach of Ghana’s Black Meteors, Ibrahim Tanko is optimistic that his outfit can cause a stir on Monday when they play host nation Egypt in the ongoing U-23 Afcon tournament.
Ghana drew its first game with Rigobert Song’s Cameroon on match day one while the Egyptians had a lone goal win over Mali.
A point for the Meteors in the upcoming match against Egypt will see Ghana in the tournament till the last round of group games.
“We know how dangerous the Egyptians can be but I am highly confident in my boys’ ability to deliver in such difficult matches”, Tanko said in a pre-match press conference ahead of Monday's game.
He added, “We know that the task ahead is not going to be an easy one for us, especially playing with the supporters behind their team but as I said I am very confident in my team and I believe they will play without fear to make every Ghanaian proud”.
Evans Mensah who was also present at the pre-match conference assured Ghanaians of their best performance when they face the Egyptians on Monday.
"We have great ambition and that’s to play in the Olympics. We respect Egypt and we know it is a tough game but we will give our best."
