Former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, [GFA], Fred Pappoe says Division One is a very difficult terrain to deal with in term of officiating, behavior of both home and away clubs and their fans.

According to him, the FA has enough rules to deal with any situation but “the willpower to implement it without fear or favour is what is lacking.”

Cash or Points deduction?

Pappoe is of the opinion, that point deduction is a better option when clubs do not play by the rules. He added that Congress realised that cash sanction was not yielding the desired effect on offending clubs so they decided to go for a much stiffer punishment being deduction of points.

Citing the recent FIFA ruling on Nigeria fielding an ineligible player in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Algeria. FIFA fined NFF CHF6000 and overturned their 2:1 win to 3:0 in favour of Algeria.

Finally, Expectation of The Coming Season?

The Accra Great Olympics board member said “The local players are doing very well. The quality of football will be solid judging by the performance of the players at the WAFU 2017 Cup.”

He concluded that Club Administrators and Managers should play their part by providing the needed environment and logistics for the players to thrive.
